President's Message 2016 - 2017

Greetings! As you know, a new fiscal year has begun for the SCI Northwest Chapter.
The Northwest Chapter had its 2016-2017 election meeting on June 25, 2016 , hosted by
J. Alain Smith, at his Trophy Room in Woodinville, WA. Thank you Alain, for hosting another
tremendous meeting at your home. Everyone had a wonderful time I am sure.

I am happy to say that I was elected as your President of the Northwest Chapter for
the year ahead. Thank you to all that support me in this venture, as I am looking forward to
working with a great Board of Directors. We will work as a team to continue the quest to
continue our outdoor heritage, keep our hunting rights secure, and to educate our youth
and the public as to these important issues.

I am very passionate about Safari Club International’s purpose and mission. Please
join me and the Board of Directors as we work to meet these goals. I will ask myself as I go
along my journey, “are my efforts going toward what is good for Safari Club International
and the Northwest Chapter”. This is what is important….to stay on task and be mindful of
our actions. I will do my best!

I am also a great supporter of Safari Club International Foundation. There are so
many great programs offered by the Foundation side of SCI. The SCIF Humanitarian Services
offer “Sportsmen Against Hunger”, “Sensory Safari”, “Disabled Hunter Hunts for Warriors”,
and “SafariCare”. The SCIF Education Sables offer “ Hands on Wildlife”, “Hunting
Heritage Scholarships”, “AWLS”, and many Youth Program grants. I would like to see the
Northwest Chapter support these programs to help continue our outdoor heritage.

I hope that all members will get out to one the great Events put on by the Northwest
Chapter. It is a great way to meet like-minded people and to bring a friend, youth, and your
whole family to introduce them to the outdoors and Safari Club International! The Chapter
is always looking for new volunteers and new ideas to create new enthusiasm and fun
while accomplishing our goals!

I look forward to meeting everyone in person this year!
